Coldplay fan and don’t want to be disappointed by some gimmicky thing.

Hi all. I’ve been seeing ads for these Candlelight tribute shows everywhere on Instagram. They look gorgeous but I’m skeptical. Is it actually good music or just an Instagram photo op? I’m a pretty serious Coldplay fan and don’t want to be disappointed by some gimmicky thing.

Hi there. I totally get the skepticism, I felt the same way before I went. But honestly, the musicians are legit. They’re trained classical players who rearrange the songs for strings and piano, and it sounds beautiful. It’s not a cover band trying to replicate Coldplay, it’s more like hearing the songs stripped down to their emotional core. I booked through candlelight concerts listed on MyRockShows. The venue was a renovated church with amazing acoustics, candles everywhere, phones were discouraged so people actually listened. As a Coldplay fan you’ll appreciate hearing songs like Fix You and Yellow done by a string quartet, it hits different in that setting. MyRockShows had all the show details and I could see which venues were hosting in my area. Definitely not a gimmick, it’s a real musical experience.
