What should I actually look for when choosing an online learning platform? There are so many and I don’t know how to evaluate quality.

Platform evaluation can feel overwhelming! Found this helpful checklist https://2amagazine.com/what-to-look-for-when-choosing-the-right-online-learning-platform/ for assessing quality. Key factors: accreditation status (non-negotiable), curriculum alignment with standards and your goals, teacher qualifications and accessibility, student-teacher ratio, technology platform stability and ease of use, student support services beyond instruction, social and extracurricular opportunities, assessment and progress tracking tools, parent communication systems, and flexibility in pacing and scheduling. Request demos and trial periods before committing. Test the platform yourself – is it intuitive? Try contacting support – how responsive are they? Read recent reviews from actual users, not just testimonials on their site. Ask about what happens if your child struggles or wants to accelerate. We created a scoring rubric with weighted criteria and evaluated each platform systematically. Made the overwhelming choice more manageable!
