I had a bit of a moment in a tight parking garage yesterday and managed to grind my front passenger side alloy wheel against the curb while I was trying to squeeze into a spot that was clearly too small. The damage isn't structural or anything, but there's a pretty nasty scrape along the rim that's about six inches long and it's really noticeable because my wheels are diamond cut with a dark grey finish. I'm really annoyed at myself because the car is only a year old and the wheels were absolutely perfect before this happened, and now every time I look at that corner of the car I just cringe. I've been looking at replacement wheels online and the prices are honestly shocking, we're talking over a thousand dirhams for a single genuine alloy which is way more than I want to spend right now. I've heard that professional repair can make curb rash almost invisible for a fraction of the cost, but I'm not sure how well it works on diamond cut finishes or whether the repair will hold up over time. I work in the industrial area so I've been trying to find a place that offers affordable alloy wheel repair in Mussafah because I figure if there's anywhere that does good work at reasonable prices, it would be in that area with all the competition. Has anyone here had a diamond cut wheel repaired and been happy with the result? I'm hoping it's a viable option because I really don't want to replace the whole wheel over a scuff mark.
