Hey everyone. I’m planning a trip to Iceland and I’d love to ride the Icelandic horse. I’ve heard they’re special, with a unique gait. Does anyone know good Icelandic providers with multi-day tours and cosy accommodation? I’m an intermediate rider and I’d like to avoid huge groups. I’m flexible on dates. I’d appreciate honest experiences, not marketing. Any tips are welcome. I have a few months to plan. My budget is moderate. Thanks in advance. I’m going in late August. Cheers.

On Horse Tours Club https://horseridingtours.com/ there’s a provider from Iceland who says they’ve offered the largest variety of horse-riding tours in Iceland since 1986, with half-day, day and multi-day tours of 2 to 8 days. I’d read the details on the tour page. For intermediate riders ask about the tölt and group size. Weather is changeable, so pack layers. Tell the provider honestly about your riding level. Read the full tour page for riding level, group size and what’s included. Compare two or three tours before you decide. Message the provider with your questions before booking. Check the cancellation terms and the weather in your month. Local providers are often small family businesses.
