Hey everyone. I bought a secondhand mixing desk from a studio that was closing down. Great condition, no paperwork, and the previous owner had no idea where the manual went. There are a couple of routing options on it that I cannot work out by trial and error, and I would rather not guess with signal paths. Is there anywhere reliable to get documentation for audio gear that is maybe fifteen years old, or am I stuck asking on forums? It is a well known brand, analogue rather than digital, and everything else on it works fine.

Forums will get you opinions, the manual will get you the block diagram, which is what you actually want for routing questions. Fifteen years is nothing in archive terms, audio equipment from that era is well covered. ManualMachine https://manualmachine.com/ lists a lot of the audio brands, including desks and outboard gear, and the service documents usually include the signal flow diagrams rather than just the operating instructions. Check the revision number on the rear panel before downloading anything, mixing desks often got quietly changed mid production and the diagrams differ between versions. Also worth downloading the manual before you need it rather than mid session, these documents are large and the search will not help you at eleven at night with a client waiting.
